Life with Griffin

Chicago, My Home Town

Well, Griffin had his first plane ride and first experience with airport delays. This one was caused more by us than the airline. Got to terminal less then 5 mins after they closed the baggage check in for our flight... Ouch 4 hours later we were finally airborne. The whole delay didn't seem to phase Griffin, but boy did it stress out the parents!

We arrived in Chicago about 10:30pm and after a stopping for some "slyders" at White Castle (check some of the crazy slyder recipes), grocery shopping for the "staples" for Griffin, and getting to our wonderful condo (Thanks Dick!) it was 2am and Griffin didn't want to go to bed! Like the Energizer Bunny...still going!

The main reason for our trip was the wedding of Ellyn, my cousin Debbie's daughter and to introduce Griffin to some more of his extended family. It was a lavish affair at the Peninsula Hotel Downtown. Walking distance from Dick's Condo, very cool strolling down Michigan Avenue in my tux with Jill on my arm.

We also got to satisfy some of our missing local Chicago treats. Giordano's stuff pizza being my top one, Penny's Noodles & Potbelly's Sandwiches being some of Jill's. We also checked out some of the sights that weren't around when Jill or I lived in Chi town.

Swinging around Chicago has a new meaning!
Griffin tries his hand at farming at the Lincoln Park "Farm in the Zoo". Not too good with the animal but great with the machinery!

Another perfect day for Griffin includes Firetrucks! And as a topper they gave him (we believe) his first lollipop. Can't refuse a fireman.

One of the new sights is the mirrored Bean at Millennium Park very cool!

Can you spot Griffin and me below?

Other sights in Millennium Park. Very cool place!

Water Water Water

Griffin recently discovered the fun one can have in H2O.
Here are some shots of our wet little man.
The first ones are at a little park in our neighborhood.

You can't catch me!
I love this "walk in" water fountain

Ah! Fresh water

The shot below is from the Huntington Gardens, they have a great children's garden of course full of water fountains!

We recently took a trip to Chicago, more about it in the next entry, Griffin loved the lake!

Splosh splosh splosh is what Griffin called walking in the water.
